Dr. Emmet Newton Palmer From: "Round the Square- A story of the Brooklyn area": Son of Colonel David W & Fidelia (Randall) Palmer of Bridgewater Twp Washtenaw Co Michigan. Dr E N Palmer studied at Ypsilanti and the University of Michigan. He studied medicine with Dr Root of Manchester. In 1871 he came to Brooklyn. He was a member of the Brooklyn school board for 12y and for 9y was village president. For awhile he was surgeon for the Michigan Southern Railroad. He also had a drug business but sold out to Woodward & Dresser. His office at one time was at Dresser's Drug Store. In 1870 he married Miss Nettie Williams, daughter of Fred Williams. She died in 1886. Colonel Fred Palmer d 21 Feb 1944 and is buried in Arlington Cemetery was their son. In 1890, Dr Palmer married Myra Fay Ladd. Their daughter was Marian Palmer Greene.
